The basis of DOGPRINT is the genetic information contained in the DNA. Each DNA (both dog and human) contains several very variable places, which are unique for a particular individual. These so-called genetic markers create a genetic profile of an individual, which we can read from the DNA and represent in your DOGPRINT as colored lines. Then we just combine the genetic profile with your favorite photo, fine-tune everything and you choose the place where you place your DOGPRINT:-)

Human and dog DNA have different genetic markers. Therefore, the genetic profile of dogs and humans is constructed from different markers. We can place both genetic profiles in one common picture so that you and your dog have a common genetic portrait, but you need to remember that this is only a symbolic representation of two sets of completely different genetic markers.

DNA COLLECTION
First, you will receive from us by post or courier a sampling kit containing 2 brushes, 2 test tubes and detailed instructions for DNA collection. You will do the sampling of your dog's DNA yourself. It is necessary to wipe one of the inner tents of his face (so-called buccal swab) with each brush, then insert the brushes into the test tubes and send them back to us in the enclosed envelope. From the cells captured on the brushes we will obtain DNA in our laboratories and we will take care of its transformation into graphic form.
SENDING A PHOTO
In addition to the DNA, we will also need a photo to make the DOGPRINT, which will be on the background of the genetic portrait. After your order is processed, we will send you an e-mail asking you to send over your chosen photograph. We want your DOGPRINT to meet your dream expectations, which is why we will be in contact with you for the entire duration of your order – sending previews, adjusting the intensity of the photograph, color lines, translucency...until your final approval before printing.
PICKING COLORS
The color chart is available HERE. However, you don't have to rush to pick the color of the lines. If you are hesitant, select "Selection after ordering" before putting the product in cart. Part of the sampling set we will send to you by post is also a printed color chart, where you can select the color of the lines later on. And if you need even more time to think it over, you can change your pick until we send your DOGPRINT to the print.
– DOGPRINT SINGLE is a single color.
– DOGPRINT DUO 2 DOGS is three-color – each dog has a genetic profile displayed in a different color, the third color corresponds to the common values of their markers (if they have them).Thanks to this, you will know how genetically similar the pictured dogs are.
– DOGPRINT DUO DOG + HUMAN is three-color – both the dog and the human have their genetic profile displayed in a different color, the third color corresponds to the values of the markers that have the same position in the portrait. Human and dog genetic profiles are made up of different genetic markers, and DOGPRINT in this case captures two completely different sets of genetic markers. If the dog and human marker have a line in the same position, it will be displayed in the 3rd color.
PICKING MATERIAL
We deliver the paintings ready to hang on the wall (with a hanging mechanism on the back), safely packed in bubble wrap and cardboard box. The paintings are printed on the finest, low-maintenance materials:
- alu-bond (lightweight aluminium plate) – gives the image a luxurious matte metallic look
- acrylic (shiny acrylic plate) – a traditional and popular material suitable for any interior. From size XL, the acrylic DOGPRINTS are reinforced with an aluminum plate on the back side.
The table version of DOGPRINT (10x15 cm) is delivered in a small box wrapped in bubble wrap. It is available in:
- thin acrylic plate with an inconspicuous acrylic stand
- freestanding DOGPRINT with a width of about 1.5 inches (solid glass block)
HOW TO READ YOUR DOGPRINT
You don't have to understand genetics to understand DOGPRINT. You will get a certificate from us, which will give you all the necessary information about it. We know that DOGPRINT sparks the interest and curiosity of the surroundings. Thanks to the certificate you will be ready to explain to all admirers the meaning behind this extraordinary image.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU ORDER IT
As soon as we receive your order, we will send you a DNA sampling kit by post or courier. Simultaneously, we will send you an e-mail asking you to send over your chosen photograph. Then you just send the collected DNA sample in the attached return envelope back to our laboratory. We then analyze the sample and are able to produce your DOGPRINT within 4 weeks. Please note, however, that the delivery time may be extended depending on your specific requirements, the amount of graphic adjustments, etc.
